Passend zum heutigen Valentinstag präsentiere ich heute in der Serie “Donnerstag = Multitrack-Video-Tag” eine Lovestory: Die Geschichte zweier Menschen, die in New York bzw. Paris leben. Auf dem vertikal geteilten Screen erleben wir quasi simultan einen Tagesablauf der beiden, jeweils ihren Flug nach London und ihr dortige (mutmaßlich erstes) Zusammentreffen. Erdacht und als Regisseur umgesetzt hat das der britische Filmemacher James W. Griffiths. Die Besonderheit an dem Film ist, dass er komplett mit einem Smartphone (von 2010) aufgenommen wurde, was ihm auch zum Sieger der Nokia Shorts competition 2011 machte. Steven Overman, Vizepräsident für “Marketing Creation” bei Nokia konstatierte:
Every film submitted for the final of Nokia Shorts was exceptional but James’ movie about two people falling in love stood out. The objective of competition was to empower filmmakers from around the world with the amazing, high quality video capabilities of the Nokia N8 smartphone. We loved all eight films and it was very tough to choose a winner, and we hope creative people everywhere are as inspired by the results as we are.
